Tim Parry Recreation Ground multi-sports facility upgrade Great Sankey

Tim Parry Recreation Ground multi-sports facility upgrade

Work on the multi-sports area at Tim Parry Recreation Ground will commence on Thursday 18th October 2018.

Phase one of the £55k upgrade will include the installation of two new enclosed goals with rebound fencing, a new pathway linking the current pedestrian path to the multi-sports area and the installation of three new benches.

Phase two will commence shortly afterwards and will include the installation of six new lighting columns, which will allow children to access the sports facility during the winter months. A full tarmac re-skim and new sports line marking will complete the upgrade.

Funding for the improvements has been awarded through a £40k grant by WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental) and £19k investment from the Parish Council.

Tony Williams, Ward Borough Councillor said,

“Great Sankey Parish Council have been planning to upgrade the multi-sports area for some time and are delighted that the WREN funding bid was successful, and this work can now happen. These improvements are in line with the Parish Council’s strategy to provide enhanced community facilities and follows on from the £300k refurbishment of Tim Parry Community Centre, which was completed earlier this year”
