Chapelford and Old Hall Borough Councillors recently attended a meeting with officers from Warrington Borough Council, the police, local residents and representatives from Omega Warrington Limited to discuss the issue of heavy goods vehicles parking on public roads in the area overnight.
This is an issue with vehicles parking up whilst waiting access to warehouses at Omega. Burtonwood Road has been affected in the past, however following reporting by local residents and the Police speaking with the lorry drivers, the issue appears to have resolved in this area. Currently, the roads of the partially-completed new housing around Omega appear to be the areas most affected.
The Police have agreed to liaise with the drivers and local businesses to discourage the practice. Police officers will also investigate other possible enforcement measures.
Please contact your Ward Councillor and let them know if you see any HGV overnight parking in the ward .
