6. Parish Playing Field drainage installation: to receive update and invoices for
August.
It was reported that the installation of the drainage system is well underway and
progressing well. The Grounds Management Association has had a couple of site visits to
check on the project and agreed the payment profile for the first invoice. The Parish
Estates Committee now needs to meet to start the tender process for the maintenance
contractor and agree the details for the management of the pitches.
(Clerk’s note: the date for the Parish Estates Committee was agreed after the council
meeting as 24 September).
7. To consider planning applications received by the Council and decide if any
objections are to be raised.
Noted planning application 2026/01174/FUL to build 9 residential units on land off
Stockdale Court – no comment.
8. To consider correspondence received by the Council and decide if any action is
required.
PCSO report: Report noted. PCSO Grady highlighted an issue near Sankey Primary
School with vehicle parking on footpaths at school drop off and pick up times. He has
approached WBC with suggestions for additional options to prevent this. Councillors are
willing to write in support if necessary. It was further acknowledged that poor parking is a
problem throughout the parish near schools and suggested that there could be a wider
project to consider options in collaboration with the police and WBC.
Dog control consultation: no comment to be made, although there was discussion on
where people are allowed to let their dogs off leads. Unless specifically prohibited for an
area, the requirement is for dog owners to keep their dog under control, but this does not
necessarily mean on a lead.
Invitation from Cheshire PCC: noted
9. To receive verbal reports from Parish Councillors and from Borough Councillors on
items of note within the Parish.
Cllr Parish reported a parking issue at Mary Ann Meadows; a proposed scheme for
double yellow lines has been deferred whilst a potential redevelopment of the football
pitches is considered.
He also informed members of surveys being conducted in Chapelford for the potential
future installation of parcel lockers. Council will await any consultation or planning details
before reviewing and commenting.
