1. All the activities are free of charge

Great Sankey Parish Council fund all the activities on offer. This year we have zorbs, laser tag, land train ride, donkey rides, giant inflatables, face painting, climbing wall, archery and a carousel ride. All for families to enjoy free of charge.

2. Live Stage Performances

We hire a huge outdoor festival stage which is an amazing platform to showcase some of the best talent we have in Great Sankey. The stage is covered so whatever the weather the show can go on.

3. Fabulous Food

This year we have partnered with Park Road Parent Group who have a wealth of experience of catering for similar types of events. They will be running Park Road Café from Tim Parry Community Centre and providing humongous hotdogs, sizzling bacon butties and banging burgers from the BBQ. All food is set at an affordable price for families to be able to treat themselves on the day.

4. Lots of community stalls

The Parish Council encourages stalls from local community groups and charitable organisations by offering them free of charge. We recognise the vital role that these groups play within the community and the day is a fantastic opportunity for people to find out more about what goes on in their area.

5. You can win tickets for your family for Gulliver’s World Theme Park

This year’s Fun Day theme is Heroes, to tie in with 2018 being the First World War One Centenary. We want children to come dressed as their favourite Hero, this can be anyone who inspires them. The competition winner will be announced live on stage at 2pm.

6. You can see the newly refurbished Tim Parry Community Centre

May 2018 saw the completion of the £300k major refurbishment scheme to Tim Parry Community Centre. Come and have a look at how fantastic the modern facilities are and find out more about what goes on at the Centre.

7. Massive Ice Creams

For the fourth year running we have Riley’s Ice cream van. We challenge you to find a larger ice cream than the ones they serve at Great Sankey Summer Fun Day.

8. It celebrates local businesses

Great Sankey is growing as an area and as a result we have a lot of fabulous independent local businesses. The Parish Council wants to support the growth of independent traders by offering them stalls free of charge at the Fun Day. It’s a great opportunity for them to promote their services and for you to find out what’s on offer.

What more can we say about this, it’s obviously the best place to live.

10. The weather is always sunny!

Erm don’t hold us to this last one, but if it isn’t, the day will still be fantastic as the majority of our activities can run in the rain and it’s a perfect excuse to seek shelter in Park Road Café and eat more cake!

Great Sankey Summer Fun Day is on Saturday 16th June 2018 from 12pm to 4pm at Tim Parry Recreation Ground (next to Park Road School).
